| Summary: Conrad led the country with 13 triples a season ago and holds the NCAA single-game record in the same category with four in a game at Marist and becomes the latest to make the jump from a small school to Wake Forest like Seaver King did a season ago. Clearly there is a lot to like in the wheels although it plays better on the bases than it does in the field. He is no center fielder, and there is some concern about his ability to stick in the outfield overall as there is still some projection in the frame and he is already average at best in terms of his routes out there. The arm is certainly enough to do the job in right but it won’t wow anyone. At the plate the approach is solid but it will certainly be interesting to see how he adjusts to the ACC, although he more than held his own on the Cape. I am not as high on the power profile as some, but I think the smooth stroke from the left side and quick hands with some loft will allow him to keep some genuine pop in the bat. | |||||||||||
