| Summary: The projection on Scott is tough. Everything about him screams lights out starter. He has a fastball in the mid-90s, a sharp cutter/slider with some two plane depth, and a change that has late tumble while sitting with a spin rate around just 900. He is 6’7” and has command of his body that is impressive, along with smooth mechanics. Then you look at the numbers in a Pac 12 that has been down a bit in its final two years, and you see ERAs of 5.10 and 5.96. Now he will throw in the ACC where, rightfully, he will be on a lot of short lists for preseason pitcher of the year in that conference, but without the eye popping numbers of a track record. Ultimately, I think he has the future of a number four starter, but there is quite a bit more risk in the profile than the metrics would suggest. | |||||||||||
