| Summary: Every time I see Pike, I change my mind on his future, but that is not a negative. Is he a pitcher? Is he a position player? If position player, where? Two years ago he was one of the more natural defensive shortstops in the underclass showcases but, as his body has matured, he has become more inconsistent defensively. Despite this, his instincts are plus and he could probably stick at the position, although a move to third would make him a pretty impressive defender at that position. The switch hitter has a quality stroke from both sides of the plate, although he shows more power from the right side while making plenty of contact from both sides. On the mound there are a ton of moving parts and it is a pure reliever look with command concerns, but the stuff is undeniable. He comes out of a low 3/4 slot with a high spin fastball up to 96, two quality breaking balls, and has shown some feel for a change. | |||||||||||
