| Summary: The list of 6’6” catchers to find success in the big leagues is incredibly short, no pun intended, but Jaksa could add to it. Despite his big frame, he is a really good receiver and blocks the ball well. Everytime I see him behind the dish it shouldn’t make sense, but it just does. He has soft hands, good feet, gets low, and stays agile. At the plate he leverages his length while keeping his swing easy and controlled, not having to sacrifice bat control for power. He is patient and commands the batter’s box, but punishes the baseball when he gets a pitch he likes. There is some risk he loses the mobility and grows out of being a genuine catcher, but that would come with plenty of power added to the frame, making him a power hitting right fielder, which isn’t the worst thing in the world. | |||||||||||
