| Summary: Silva was a draft eligible sophomore in 2024 and was ranked 129 overall for me over at Prospects1500, but the hit concerns ultimately led to him not getting drafted as he did have plenty of leverage and no team was ready to pony up the signing bonus it would have required to sign him. The bat-to-ball skills are solid, but nothing great and there really isn’t any power to speak of. In the field though, Silva shines. He has good actions in the dirt and the ability to make all the plays and is really a no doubt shortstop as a pro. Once the ball is in his glove, he gets to unleash an absolute cannon of an arm that allows him to throw out runners with ease. The future may be as a utility infielder without development in the bat, but if the contact improves and he becomes even a fringe average power guy, he could become an easy everyday shortstop. | |||||||||||
