| Summary: There are plenty of questions in Cerny’s game, which is a big reason he did not get selected as a draft eligible sophomore a season ago, but it is the steady improvements that make you take note. There were once questions whether or not he could stick at short as he grades out largely average in terms of range, glove, and arm strength, but his instincts make him play above average at the position and he seems to be a sure fire six moving forward. At the plate, his average raw power already translates in game and there is still some projection in the frame. The biggest concern is the hit tool as he has a bit of a different stance with his backside sticking out as he hunches down some and there is a bit of stiffness, although it doesn’t seem to hurt him against velo. Where the hit tool does let him down is against spin where he chases too often, although he has shown signs of that improving this summer. | |||||||||||
