| Summary: Currently, Pierce is a standout defender and athlete, although there is plenty to like in the bat too. He has a quick bat and controls the zone well allowing him to shoot the ball into gaps with ease. There isn’t much power in the game now, but the raw power is in there and could easily develop into an average home run hitter as he adds muscle to the frame. He has excellent instincts in the field and on the bases and has put up some really impressive run times. Still super thin, there are some who think he may outgrow short, but I am not one of them. He has plenty of quickness, soft hands, and enough arm to be a solid defender at the position even if he adds 25-30 pounds. How much upside in the bat a team can envision developing will be the determining factor on just how high he goes in the draft. | |||||||||||
