| Summary: Coming out of high school in 2022, Forbes was a power hitting third baseman turned outfielder, and he had a solid freshman season for Louisville where he stepped to the plate 109 times while he toed the rubber for only 9.1 innings. A broken hand when hit by a pitch in 2024 took him out of the lineup, but kept him on the mound where he established himself as a real prospect. He carried a solid season into a successful stint on the cape and with the USCNT over the summer. He fires out of a lower slot that allows for plenty of run on the fastball that has been up to 97 and is a true plus to double plus offering. His slider has plenty of sweeping action with a ton of horizontal movement and high spin rates, but also features some depth too. His changeup and command will both need to improve if he is to be a starter long term, but he is a college arm that is still pretty raw and lacks a ton of wear and tear. The profile leaves a lot more projection than you normally see from a college arm, but as it stands he is an easy power reliever now, with genuine starter upside. | |||||||||||
