Summary: A four-pitch, pitchability lefty with successful stints on the Cape and with the USCNT, Jacobs certainly has plenty of things to like. That pitchability currently is more in his ability to manipulate his pitches and is control over command, but he should have at least average command long term. He does not have a big frame nor does he have a singular pitch that will blow away hitters, but he has more than enough. His fastball sits low-90s and will get up to 96 periodically with plenty of carry up in the zone. His best pitch might be his split-fingered change with good fade in the low-80s. He has a pair of breaking balls with a sharp slider in the low-80s and a curve with good depth in the upper 70s, although he does not use it nearly enough. Overall, the upside is that of a number four starter, and there isn’t the loud stuff that would play all that well in a bullpen, but the floor is rather high here too.
