| Summary: I was already pretty high on Bauer, but he made waves across the baseball landscape when he touched triple digits, then went to uncharted territory when he touched 102 at Lake Point. Prep lefties who touch triple digits don’t exist, prep lefties to get up to 102 have never existed, at least that has been recorded and confirmed. The crazy thing is Bauer isn’t just a one trick pony, he has an excellent breaking ball and a ton of projection left. There is not too much effort in the delivery and the ball coming out of a low 3/4 slot adds deception to the big velo. His sweeping breaking ball regularly exceeds a spin rate of 3k and has true plus potential. He still features a changeup, although with the fastball/breaking ball combo, it isn’t a pitch he needs to use much currently. There was once a thought he makes it to Virginia, but that is now very much a long shot | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
