| Summary: If Costello makes it to campus, he will be a draft eligible sophomore as he is one of the older players in the 2026 class, but the juice in the bat could certainly make that a mute point. There is legit raw power in the bat and a frame that screams catcher/1B. That strong frame helps him get the ball to jump without having to overswing and can keep his bat rather compact allowing him to make more consistent content than a lot of pure power hitters. He has a solid arm and decent footwork behind the dish, but that frame does lead to some minor questions about his ability to keep the lateral mobility to stick as a catcher. So long as he remains reasonably mobile, he has all the other tools to be just find there, but there pop would also play if he ever has to move over to first. | |||||||||||
