| Summary: In a bloodlines rich draft, Young fits right in as he is the nephew of former big leaguers Delmon and Dmitri Young. While he has seen some time in right, and could certainly become a plus defender there, I like him at third base and think he is above average there with some plus upside. He has real range and fluidity to go with one of the better arms in the class. At the plate, he has a big leg kick that is off the ground a long time with plenty of barrel tilt, although the balance is pretty good and the leg kick was not as extreme this summer as the one before. He is an imposing presence which, combined with the violent swing, leads to a ton of power. I considered putting a 75 on the power grade, and would not be surprised if I adjust to that later on, but those factors also lead to plenty of swing and miss concerns in the hit tool. He was originally in the 2026 class before reclassifying last summer and is currently committed to LSU. | |||||||||||
