| Summary: A red-shirt Sophomore, Compton won the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in the final year of the conference after missing 2023 due to injury. He set foot on campus as a two-way prospect, but he doesn’t pitch anymore and the arm has not really bounced back, leaving him as a likely left field prospect in the future. He has a simple operation at the plate and an advanced feel to hit with good pitch recognition, allowing him to get to his carrying tool, the power in the bat. Defensively he only has average upside, meaning he will have to make up for the defensive deficiencies with the bat. He hit 14 long balls a season ago, then hit six more over the summer on the Cape, showing his power plays in all parks, with metal or wood. | |||||||||||
