| Summary: Watson is a rare combination of stuff and pitchability from a high school arm, and the polish is what really sets him apart. The fastball gets into the mid-90s with heavy sink that regularly sees hitters killing worms as they ground out. His strikeout pitch is a low-80s slider with two plane depth he tunnels well and regularly has hitters off balance and swinging over. He will break out a 12-6 curve at times that he spots well. His change the pitch that lags behind the others, but it has more than enough polish and potential to get hitters out currently. He commands all his pitches well from a lower 3/4 slot in a delivery he repeats well despite a rather long frame. Will he ever be a front of the rotation guy putting up big strikeout numbers, no. What he will do is develop into a guy who is a reliable mid-rotation arm and will regularly see hitters with low BABIP numbers against him. | |||||||||||
