| Summary: Coming from a small town of just over 1,500 west of Austin, Slawinski is not your typical Texas arm. Instead of a big power arsenal, he leans on pitchability, which is actually what helps his projection. The fastball can sit in the upper-80 and be up to 93 with sink and tail, but there is a ton of projection here. Because he does not have convenient access to one of the many elite facilities in the state, along with his super thin frame, there is plenty of reason to believe there is plenty of velo to come. He has a change he tunnels well with his fastball with a similar shape that can be an absolute nightmare for hitters. He does have a curve with depth, but the arm slot is somewhat inconsistent with his other two offerings, meaning hitters at the next level will be able to pick it up pretty well unless he makes some tweaks. For me, this is a guy teams need to pick and sign this year because his value will only skyrocket if he makes it to campus. | |||||||||||
